Learning Music through Yamaha Keyboards!

We love music at Cloverdale!
My name is Ms. Spencer.

Music is a vital part of helping children become well-rounded adults and it is a fun and essential part of the week! Students come to the music room once a week for 30 minutes. They learn music FUNdamentals through singing, rhythm games, movement activities, listening activities, playing percussion instruments. The 4th graders also learn to play the recorder.

Cloverdale Elementary is also very fortunate to have received the Music in Education grant for the Yamaha Piano Lab. ALong with learning the basics of playing a keyboard, the Piano Lab gives students the chance to compose and record individual compositions, to explore many types of sound effects and instruments, and to develop an appreciation for different types of music.

Parents, you are welcome any time to visit music class with your child.
"Music gives us a language that cuts across the disciplines, helps us to see connections and brings a more coherent meaning to our world." Ernest Boyer, President, Carnegie Foundation
